How to Care for Your Wooden Ring
Thank you for choosing an Andrwood ring. Every piece we craft is made to last — but like any meaningful item, it deserves care. Here's how to keep your wooden ring looking its best for years to come.
General Tips for Everyday Wear
Wood is naturally strong, but it's still an organic material. Treat your ring gently, and it will reward you with lasting beauty.
- Avoid water: Take your ring off before swimming, showering, or washing dishes. While our rings are sealed, long exposure to water can weaken the wood over time.
- Limit exposure to chemicals: Hand sanitizers, lotions, and perfumes may damage the finish or cause discoloration.
- Remove during physical activity: Manual labor, gym workouts, or gardening can lead to scratches, cracks, or pressure damage.
Cleaning Your Wood Ring
To clean your ring:
- Wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth.
- If needed, use a slightly damp cloth — but avoid soaking the ring.
- Never use alcohol, soap, or abrasive cleaners.
Note: You don’t need to oil or wax your ring. Each Andrwood ring is protected with a durable, multi-layer cyanoacrylate finish that seals the wood completely.
What to Avoid
- Extreme temperatures: Don't leave your ring in hot cars, near radiators, or in direct sunlight for extended periods.
- High humidity: Avoid storing it in damp places like bathrooms.
- Impact damage: Avoid dropping your ring or hitting it against hard surfaces — especially rings with delicate inlays.
Storage Tips
- Keep your ring in its original Andrwood box or a dry, padded jewelry case.
- Use a small pouch when traveling to protect it from scratches.
- Don’t toss it in a bag or pocket with keys, coins, or sharp objects.
Do You Need to Refinish the Ring?
Typically, no. Our finish is long-lasting and maintenance-free. But if your ring shows signs of wear — like a cloudy surface or small cracks — we're happy to help.
